Two American Idols Get the Boot From J Records

J Records, the label that gives the American Idol winners their contract, has just released two idols due to poor record sales.

(American Idol Season 2 winner Reuben Studdard)

Taylor Hicks, who won in season 5 over Katherine McPhee had poor sales, but plans to release his next album on his own. J Records has also let season 2 winner Ruben Studdard go right before the beginning of the New Year. Studdard has signed on for the 30th anniversary tour of Broadway’s Ain’t Misbehavin’. Idol contestant Frenchie Davis will be joining him in the cast.
