The problem is this: people in both celebrities' camp think doing "staged reality" is bad idea. For those of you who don't know, "staged reality" is the fakest of fake reality television. I like to think of it as a work of fiction performed without a script. Think of "The Hills". Now you get the picture.
Real World is back again, this time it’s gearing up for it’s 23rd season. It’s wild thinking about how long we’ve been gawking at the lives of seven(recently eight) strangers. Over a decade of fights, follies, drunken stoopers, life changing revelations, and immature antics. Now while it sounds bad, it’s also the reason we tune […]

According to Hulk Hogan, his daughter Brooke has been keeping very busy with her showbiz career. She even auditioned for Dancing With the Stars this week.
I’m sure there is a joke in there, but I refuse to do anything with the dancing horse image that immediately popped into my head. The Hulkster and Brooke were stars of the reality show, Hogan Knows Best.
Spike TV is working with Al Roker Productions and the DEA to create a reality show.
The show, which is planned to air this spring, will document the inner workings of the Detroit Drug Enforcement Agency. It plans to show the day to day issues that the DEA has, and show the intracies, and the danger of drug enforcement.
Kind of like Parking Wars, but only with a subject that is actually interesting and dangerous. It sucks that my city gets a parking authority reality show, but Detroit gets something cool like the DEA. Anyway, Spike has ordered six one hour episodes. No actual air date has been released yet.
Matt Roloff, star of the TLC reality show Little People, Big World was found not guilty of DUI by a Washington County, Oregon judge on January 10th, after the jury for the case was dismissed for violation court rules.
The jury on the case deliberated three hours before going home for the evening on Wednesday. When they returned the next day, they asked questions that led the judge to conclude that they had looked up legal terms on the internet, one of the things they were specifically instructed not to do.
After the jury was dismissed, Roloff dismissed his right to a jury trial, and petitioned the judge for a directed verdict. The judge found Mr. Roloff not guilty.
The Bachelorette will be returning to ABC on March 17th. At this point, we have no information on who the bachelorette is going to be, but hopefully it won’t be someone who will dump the man she chooses on national television, like a Bachelor who shall remain nameless…
This season of the MTV reality show, Run’s House will be wrapping up this week, and after several season’s of watching the Simmon’s family, viewers might be curious to know what Joseph “Rev Run” Simmons is really about.
Anyone who doesn’t know that Simmons was a part of the pioneering 1980’s rap group Run DMC, and is Russell Simmon’s brother has apparently been living in oblivion. But David Betancourt of The Washington Post interviewed the Reverend, and the insightful article explains how Run became a reverend, why he chose to do a reality show, and what he hopes to achieve.
He also gives his opinion of other reality shows like Snoop Dogg’s Parent Hood, and I Love New York.
Ever watch a show like Flip This House or Designed to Sell, and think that maybe you should partner up with somebody and get rich in real estate fixing up houses and reselling them for a profit? Aside from the fact that there’s a good chance that you lack the skills you need to renovate a house from top to bottom by yourself, flipping a house is not as easy as these reality shows would lead you to think.
One of the major problems of flipping a house in 2008 is the nation’s economy. Unless you’ve only been watching reality shows the past six months, you are probably aware of the dire straits the real estate market is in these days. You can’t sell a house when no one can afford one.
Alan J. Heavens of The Philadelphia Inquirer wrote a good article, explaining the pitfalls of believing that flipping a house is as easy to do as you see on tv, and he also gives a few reasons for the unrealistic portrayal of the real estate picture on these shows.
J Records, the label that gives the American Idol winners their contract, has just released two idols due to poor record sales.

J Records has also let season 2 winner Ruben Studdard go right before the beginning of the New Year. Studdard has signed on for the 30th anniversary tour of Broadway’s Ain’t Misbehavin’. Idol contestant Frenchie Davis will be joining him in the cast.
MySpace top fame whore and star of MTV’s reality dating show A Shot At Love with Tila Tequila continues to reinforce the rumors that her persona is as fake as a three dollar bill. This time her tv boyfriend calls her out.
According to CNN.com, the winner of the dating show, 25 year oldfilm student Bobby Bonhart claims that after the show, Tila never tried to contact him and nobody gave him her number.
But Bobby, there could be a couple of reasons she never called. It could be that she signed up for a second season of the show long before the first season ended. Or it could be that she didn’t want to make her real boyfriend upset. I really don’t think it has anything to do with you, so don’t start stocking up on Tic Tacs.
To be fair, Tequila claimed that Bobby couldn’t handle her busy work schedule. Honestly, it takes a lot of work to pretend to be bisexual and film a reality dating show, with the hopes that one day the world will acknowledge your real talent and respect you for the legitimate artist you think you are.
So let’s all cut her some slack, because we all know that on reality tv, love often is a code word for “attention”.
