I LOVE NEW YORK 2 Recap: 12-10-07

Posted by Faith W on December 11, 2007

(by Deb Porter-Jones)

New York takes the final three, Buddha, Punk and Tailor Made, to sunny Miami after sending Frank (the “basement loser”) home.

Buddha flirts with their hostess in Miami and of course Punk and Tailor Made can’t wait to tell New York – after all, he’s supposed to be there to win New York, right?

From this point on, New York claims to be disappointed in Buddha because he’s been flirting with several women. Their one-on-one date consists of this ridiculous dance between the two of them. She pretends to push him away and when leaves, she begs him not to go.

New York says “I’m supposed to love you just because you have beautiful skin, and brown eyes and great bone structure? I’ve been with hot and fine brothers before.” Buddha says “I’ve been with hot and fine sisters before too.” On and on this went (okay, I admit it, it got annoying).

Buddha says he is totally “putting on” as far as the heated arguments and the feigned drama goes. He is an actor, remember, y’all. He says New York enjoys the “drama” better than she does sex. He may be right because this little exercise was like an episode of All My Children at its finest.

Buddha pretends to the guys that he and New York had a hot and sexy night. Punk and Tailor Made are incensed that he is disrespecting New York in such a way.

The foursome is on the way to visit a zoo in Miami when Punk and Tailor Made inform New York about how Buddha told them all about their “hot and sexy night”. New York is clearly disgusted and informs them that Buddha never touched her and she thinks he’s a pig. New York then begins to ice Buddha out quite effectively for the rest of the date.

Both guys let her know in no uncertain terms how they feel that Buddha is just using her for some attention and a quick 15 minutes of fame for his acting gig.

New York’s Date with Tailor Made got hot and heavy. It appeared that they were doing the nasty under the covers after a quite romantic dinner date on a hotel rooftop. Unfortunately, their romance was interrupted by Sister Patterson! Could this be the night that Little New York may have been conceived, if those rumors are true?

New York and Punk have a quiet lunch together at the zoo where she eats some whipped cream off his manly, muscular chest and they share a passionate kiss. (She’s kissing everyone these days, yuck!) Punk drives home the fact that Buddha isn’t there for her like he and Tailor Made are and New York seems to appreciate his honesty. She also admits that he truly is like a brother to her. Not a good sign.

Throughout the Miami date, it becomes increasingly obvious that Buddha is really not into her. Both Punk and Tailor Made, as irrational and ridiculous as it may seem, truly to seem to be in love with New York. Buddha’s attitude is just the opposite. It’s clear that he’s acting because, like he said, New York loves drama!

Elimination

New York gives Tailor Made a chain immediately. She has no question that he is there for her. It’s now down to Punk and Buddha.

New York makes a list of pros and cons regarding both Punk and Buddha. Only she is unable to come up with any cons for Punk. All of his pros are great: Punk is sexy, stylish, educated, handsome, AND he loves HER: all the things any girl would kill to find in one guy!

As for Buddha, New York acknowledges that if she reads the list she made for him, he would most assuredly be going home. She talks about how he drives her crazy and she has a passion for him, yada yada yada. She tells him he’s sexy as hell and when she’s around him, she melts. She also acknowledges that he plays games with her heart and she doesn’t want to be hurt again. But she doesn’t read the list!! They have this uncontrollable force between them and she wants to be with him all the time.

Yes, she chooses Buddha over Punk. I can understand, on some level, why she chose Buddha. It’s called ratings, people! Unfortunately, Punk is at a loss to understand how this could have happened. She just said he has no flaws and is essentially the perfect guy. Only, there’s no passion there, which New York craves (or just ratings).

It’s interesting how Buddha became the villain in all this. At the beginning of the season, we were hating Tailor Made for his villainous ways. Apparently, Buddha’s discovered the appeal of adopting the villainous ways – he’s basically trying to stretch his 15 minutes, much like what New York did way back when she started with Flava Flav. Unfortunately, some of the other guys are taking this reality TV stuff way too seriously and developing feelings for New York. I believe that Punk really does love her (why, I don’t know) but it’s clear that he has some strong feelings. Also Tailor Made, mousy little man that he is, appears to have some strong feelings for New York, too! If he wins, I can just see the spin-off – 12 weeks of watching New York verbally abuse, and even beat, Tailor Made may make for interesting, if not pathetic, reality TV.

Next week! The Final Two: Buddha and Tailor Made – the gloves are off!!
