Last week Tyra Banks interviewed a woman with two vaginas on her self-titled talk show. My favorite part of this clip, aside from Ty-Ty’s melodramatic introduction, is when Tyra says, “It’s already tough enough having one vagina, and you have two.” What is going on with Tyra’s body that she has been struggling with having a [... Weight loss competition reality shows are a special breed in reality tv entertainment. The viewers become acquainted with the contestants, and identify with their desire to improve their health and self-esteem. For many contestants it’s a golden opportunity to join the ultimate support group.
So when Terena McCarter made it through several rounds of auditions for The Biggest Loser, only not to make the final call it came as a heartbreaking disappointment. But it didn’t stop her and others who were also rejected from the show and ABC’s Fat March from forming an internet group and supporting each other’s weight loss goals. Fox Reality will launch the 2003 controversial British reality show There’s Something About Miriam with a special episode on October 31st, at 1:00am.
Miriam, which was produced by reality television’s Endemol, stars then 21-year old Mexican model, Miriam in a two-week quest to find the perfect man. The twist of the competition was that, unbeknownst to her male contestants, the beautiful model was transgendered. Although he had begun hormone therapy in adolecense and had two breast implants over the years, at the time he decided to pass on a complete sex change, and keep his penis, because he was happy the way he was.
Six men were chosen to spend two weeks with Miriam, vying for her affection, and in the end, Miriam chose lifeguard Tom Rooke. In the final episode, when she makes her choice she also reveals her little “secret”.
And as a result, all litigious hell breaks out, with the men suing for things like defamation, breach of contract, and assorted types of emotional traumatization. The men settled on an undisclosed amount.
To no one’s surprise, Miriam did not find the man of her dreams on her show, but went on to become a guest on Big Brother Australia in 2004.
Here’s a clip from There’s Something About Miriam:
FINALLY, the spin off to “Who Wants To Make Out With An Old Rapper?” has returned. The new season if I Love New York premiered tonight with all the over the top personalities that one has come to expect from the series. The cast includes some rich guys, some perverts, a nerd and a little person. It started with 10 guys and then New York revealed the twist of the “Mommas Boys,” which are 5 guys chosen by New York’s mom. It’s not much of a twist but for this it works.
All in all it looks like a great season from the little preview clip. Filled with sex, fighting, little people, fighting, drunkenness, fighting, and most importantly LOVE FOR NEW YORK!
